Cozart Lumber and Supply Co. was founded by C.A. "Dolly" Cozart and has been in operation since the 1940s, providing and delivering all types of building supplies.

The company suffered a major blow in 1990, when a fire almost destroyed the business. It was inactive until the owners rebuilt in 1992.

Steve Whicker, Cozart's son-in-law, who has since retired from the business, has said that the family was able to rebuild and even improve upon the business since the fire. Whicker's wife, Peggy, who started working at the lumber company when she was just 16 and eventually served as vice president, has also retired. Cozart, who died in 1984, was a contractor who started selling building supplies out of a 12-foot-square building in the '40s and continued to run the business until Whicker took over in the 1970s.
